Since its inception, The Art Students League has collected outstanding works created by students and instructors.
This database presents a small selection of highlights from its permanent collection that is comprised of paintings, sculptures, works on paper, and combined media by artists including William Merritt Chase, Norman Rockwell, Georgia O’Keeffe, John Sloan, Peggy Bacon, Isabel Bishop, Reginald Marsh, Peter Blume, Alexander Calder, Dorothy Dehner, Edwin Dickinson, Burgoyne Diller, Jan Matulka, Milton Avery, Charles Alston, Will Barnet, and hundreds more.
Efforts are underway to catalogue and digitize these holdings with the aim of presenting a
comprehensive and authoritative database for the public.
