NYC Parks: Watercolor Painting Workshop

Painting by Amy DiGi

Join NYC Parks’ Arts, Culture & Fun for a weekly watercolor landscape workshop series in partnership with Seeds of the League. This month, artist Amy DiGi will teach you how to draw and paint using nature as our inspiration. All levels from beginners to advanced are welcome. Learn about light, color and design while making art en plein air (outside).

For your comfort, bring a mat, blanket, or folding chair to sit on. Feel free to bring your own watercolors, paper, water, and brushes. Limited supplies will be provided as well.

Amy DiGi is a plein air artist working in both rural and city locations. She is a United States Coast Guard artist and an Arts in Embassy artist. She received her MFA from Lehman College and BFA from Pratt Institute.

Seeds of the League is the Art Students League’s community program.

Registration
Please register at [email protected]. The class size is limited to 25 participants and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the workshop.

Please note: This summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’re offering outdoor programs with limited attendance so that you can have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Based on New York State guidance for sports and recreation during COVID-19, we’ve put protocols into place to keep our participants and staff safe and healthy. We’re asking everyone to help us stay safe:

  • Stay home if you’re sick
  • Maintain six feet of physical distance between households
  • Wear a face covering
  • Wash your hands

Additionally, we encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer to our programming.

Note: Some programs may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather, health, or safety concerns.
