Sculpture: Modeling in Clay

Arslan, Andre, 2015, bronze, life-size

Class Description

While anyone with an impulse to study or create art in any material is welcome, our primary focus is studying the human form from the nude model, present at all times, through direct observation, use of anatomical aides, talks, demos, and individual critiques. The aim is to strip away layers of ignorance, prejudice, and habit in order to see more clearly and to develop a visual vocabulary, sensitivity, and skills to express one’s own vision of reality.
This class works from the clothed and nude model, with poses generally lasting three weeks.
