Advanced Figure Composition (online class)

Marshall Jones

Class Description

In this class students will be painting the model from life using a blend of classical and contemporary techniques with an emphasis on drawing elements and color mixing. In the beginning of the pose students will primarily focus on gesture and proportion capturing the essential shape of the figure. Learning to accurately delineate the shadow pattern, students will then examine the smaller but important nuances to make their work as life like as possible. As we move in to color there will be an emphasis on color mixing and color temperature. Students will learn how to avoid muddy mixtures, how to make simple accurate mixtures and how and when to use transparent and opaque paint.
