Grant and Scholarship Competitions 2008 The League's annual grant and scholarship competitions will be held the week of May 12th in the League's gallery. (The application deadline for the grants and merit scholarships was Friday, April 11, 2008.) The judging of the competition is not open to the public and the gallery will be closed for the event from May 12 to 16.

Xavier and Ethel Edwards Gonzalez Grant Open to League students of painting for travel and study in Spain.
Phyllis H. Mason Grant Available to a League student working in a representational style.
Edward G. McDowell Travel Grant Open to unmarried League students available for travel and study in Europe.
The Alma Schapiro Travel Grant Open to a League student working in the classical realist tradition.
Lloyd Sherwood Grant Open to a student working in a nonobjective style in oil, acrylic or mixed media.
Scholarships (Tuition Only)
Board of Control (Work-Study) Based on documented need and talent. Recipients are required to work four hours a week at the League.

Financial Aid
Students in full- and part-time classes are eligible to apply for financial assistance through the League's own financial aid program. The League does not participate in financial aid programs sponsored by the federal or state government.
Financial aid is available to students enrolled in full-time and part-time classes in the form of work-study scholarships, grants and merit-based scholarships. Eligibility requirements and a list of available scholarships and grants may be obtained in the office of the League or below.
Work-study scholarships are based on documented financial need and merit and require four hours of work per week. Jobs are assigned by the scholarship coordinator and are all on campus.
Grants are based on juried competition and plans of study, and require specific advanced registration at the League.
Work-Study scholarships: Tuition scholarship requiring students to work in order to pay for their class(es) on a month-to-month basis. Students may apply for work-study scholarships based on documented financial need and merit. Work-study scholarships require four hours of work per week. Jobs are assigned by the scholarship coordinator and are all on campus.
