Painting in Pastel from Life

The goal of this class is to observe the model's form, color, and value relationships with a clear eye and to distill this complex information into a simply expressed, harmonious construction. Students will engage in the intense color analysis intrinsic to working in pastel. Study of human structure and experience drawing the model is highly recommended before taking this class.
Eagle holds a B.F.A. with distinction in drawing from the California College of Arts and Crafts, took Daniel Greene's workshop and studied with Michael Burban at the Art Students League. Her primary study has been with Harvey Dinnerstein, for whom she was a class assistant at the Art Students League.
Ms. Eagle's work is represented by Forum Gallery, New York City, where her work was introduced in a solo exhibit in 2002. This was followed by solo exhibits at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and, most recently, at Concordia College in Bronxville, New York. Her work has been shown in venues such as the National Academy Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art, the Frye Art Museum, the New Jersey State Museum, the Albright-Knox Gallery and the Arkansas Drawing Center.
Her work has been reproduced in The New York Times, the Newark Star Ledger, Portrait Signature Magazine, the book The Classical Drawing Atelier (Watson-Guptill); was featured in the December 2004 issue of American Artist Magazine and was the subject of the cover article of The Pastel Journal, June 2006.
Her articles, "An Elegant Unrest" and "Composing A Life" were published in Linea: The Journal of the Art Students League of New York.
Ms. Eagle is the recipient of many awards and grants, including those from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and the Dodge Foundation. Her pastel paintings are owned by private and corporate collectors throughout the country.
